Azteca Foods and Grand Central Airport


Nkowa introduced the concept of “Communication” by taking students on a trip to learn about how an international culture communicates and how an airport operates. At Azteca, Gaby the owner explained the history and culture of Mexico and how their traditions continue to this day. She shared the process of how tortillas are made and the importance of health and safety procedure in food production. At Grand Central Airport our guide Daniel took us on a tour of the grounds and introduced us to a young pilot, Diego, who showed us how a plane operates. He explained the symbols and gadgets on the dashboard and what they mean. He also explained the process of becoming a pilot, the intense training and licensure requirements needed in order to qualify as a pilot.
